The Vedanta Study Group is an initiative to share the knowledge of Advaita Vedanta with others and to reflect on life experiences in the light of Vedanta.

Study Group teachers Paula and Frank Spronk have been studying Advaita Vedanta for many years. Inspired by Swami Chinmayananda and by Swami Tejomayananda they study traditional and modern texts and place this knowledge into their day to day life. The Vedanta dimension is coloring their life and the enrichment of this wisdom makes them feel very grateful.

During the Study Group the original text is recited in Sanskrit, then together we read the translation of the verses and the commentary, followed by further explanation and feedback.

The ancient Vedanta texts like Bhagavad Geeta, the Upanishads and other fundamental books are the common thread in these meetings.

The Study Group classes on Saturdays are taught in English and are in principle Online sessions. In order to enable physical meetings of the participants , we do have in person workshops and full day retreats planned once in two to three months.

Planning of weekly online session:

16.00 Skype invitation
16.15 Log in
16.30 Tuning
17.00 Chosen Ventanta text (Example: Vivekachoodamani, Bhagwat Geeta, Saddarsana with commentary by Swami Tejomayananda)                                                                                                                                                                                 18.00 aftertalk and music.

An in person Dutch study group session is scheduled once every month on a Saturday morning.

Once a month there is a seminar in Dutch with the text “Druppels”.

Paula Spronk also has individual meetings for text study and/or meditation.

All the live meetings are in the house of Spronk family in Vught.

All interested people are welcome – the people for whom the subject matter is new, and also the ones who are already familiar with Vedanta. A unique feature of the study group is its universal character ,binding together people from different parts of the world through the knowledge of Vedanta.
